Bruce Potter

A New York State school administrator with over three decades of experience in educational leadership, Bruce Potter has held positions including teacher, superintendent, and principal. He co-founded and presently leads the Center for Collaborative Expertise, where he delivers empowering, research-driven solutions that elevate the quality of instruction and improve student performance. Emphasizing practical techniques with immediate impact, Bruce Potter and his team have successfully addressed chronic absenteeism and substantially increased student participation at select schools.

Mr. Potter is also an independent consultant with Corwin Press. He regularly presents at industry events such as the Annual Visible Learning (AVL) conference in Las Vegas. He has shepherded districts to certification as Visible Learning schools. This Corwin initiative provides educators with access to books, professional development products, and training resources that improve educational outcomes.

Mr. Potter’s accomplishments include securing special legislation approved by the Governor of New York in 2013 for the launch of a public school focused on special education and at-risk students likely to drop out. A noted author, Mr. Potter, penned the book Grading Visible Learners: Learning with Fluidity, Not Finality.
